My name is Everett LaRoi and I am an Edmonton-based Suzuki Method guitar teacher. My Suzuki guitar program is specifically tailored for students attending the Suzuki Charter School in Edmonton, Canada.
Suzuki Guitar by Everett is a 9-month program running from September until the end of May. Lessons are held on a weekly basis with holidays corresponding to the Suzuki Charter School calendar. My program is predominantly an in-person program but there is a once a month online Zoom Lesson component as well.

The Suzuki Method is an internationally recognized method of teaching music that was conceived by Japanese violinist and pedagogue Shinichi Suzuki (1898–1998). Suzuki believed that talent could be learned and was not an inborn trait. The Suzuki Method is often referred to as the “mother’s tongue approach” in that it applies the concepts of language acquisition to learning music. Suzuki believed people should learn to play music as they learned to speak and read. Accordingly, students learn to play by ear first before reading music notation is introduced; just as they learned to speak words before they learned to read words.
